Job Description Summary:

The Division of Accounting & Law at Babson College invites applicants for an adjunct faculty position in the area of federal taxation to start in the Summer 2017 semester. Adjunct tax faculty will usually teach the graduate strategic business & tax planning course and/or the undergraduate federal tax course. A successful applicant must have a JD from an accredited university. A graduate degree in taxation is preferred.

We are looking for an accomplished adjunct faculty member who:
• Is passionate about teaching taxation for a global student audience and who has a proven track record of excellence in sharing insights with others.
• Brings depth in practical expertise that will add to the classroom experience and intellectual community of the College.
• Is comfortable presenting the “why” as well as the “what” and “how” when teaching taxation.
• Is a team player, ready to collaborate with faculty from multiple disciplines to teach in an integrated, cross-disciplinary context.
• Is experienced in working/teaching in ways that will enhance the college’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
• Will be an engaging and helpful colleague with a good sense of humor who is committed to the success of Babson College.

Applicants with relevant teaching and practical experience in taxation, a working knowledge of accounting, professional licensure and proficiency using WestlawNext and/or the Tax Analysts research databases will be given preference.

Babson College offers courses in different formats, including traditional semester schedules, intensive classroom experiences and formats which combine on-line teaching with in-person classroom sessions. Applicants considered for teaching assignments may be asked to attend a training program and may be asked to shadow an experienced faculty member for up to a semester.
