Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

Babson College is accepting applications for a part-time faculty member for Spring 2018 to teach social science courses in Urban Studies; applicants with a disciplinary background in history, sociology, anthropology, or other related fields are welcome to apply. Applicants may be asked to teach “Introduction to Urban Studies.” Applicants are free to design their course, and it could be either comparative or US-focused; courses that touch on diversity, gentrification, culture, and/or environmental issues would be particularly welcome. Applicants may also propose a more focused, in-depth course in the field of Urban Studies. This position is well-suited for an advanced graduate student or postdoc seeking teaching experience in preparation for entering the faculty job market.

Additional Information

Minimum Education required:
ABD or PhD in scholarly discipline
Real world experience in the field;
Undergraduate or graduate-level teaching experience strongly preferred;
Familiarity with Blackboard or other course management systems;
